Kolab is a groupware system that provides a comprehensive and flexible solution for workgroups. Email, contacts, and group calendars can be managed via the Web, Windows/Outlook, and Linux/KDE. It supports offline synchronization and full seamless support of mixed client environments because the Kolab-XML storage format is fully open and avoids MAPI/TNEF.

Par rapport à l'ancienne 2.3.4 stable version, cette version dispose d'un nouveau client Web modern qui intègre Roundcube au lieu de la Horde. Il intègre beaucoup mieux dans des configurations de répertoire utilisateur existant. Sécurité ainsi qu'une évolutivité a été grandement améliorée. Il est maintenant possible à l'échelle de tous les composants fonctionnels de Kolab séparément. Il y a un nouvel utilitaire de ligne de commande unifiée pour les tâches administratives.

Compared to the old 2.3.4 stable release, this version features a new modern Web client that integrates Roundcube instead of Horde. It integrates a lot better into existing user directory setups. Security as well as scalability has been greatly improved. It is now possible to scale all functional components of Kolab separately. There is a new unified command line utility for administrative tasks.

Principalement, cette version corrige les bugs signalés et stabilise les paquets Debian plus loin. Utilisateurs des versions 3.x antérieures peuvent simplement installer les nouveaux paquets, Kolab étant maintenant sur un rolling releases. Grands progrès accomplis emballage Kolab pour OpenSUSE 12.2.

This release mainly fixes reported bugs and stabilizes the Debian packages further. Users of earlier 3.x releases can simply upgrade to the new packages, since Kolab is now on a rolling release. Great progress has been made packaging Kolab for OpenSUSE 12.2.
