TOMOYO Linux is a Mandatory Access Control (MAC) implementation for Linux that can be used to increase the security of a system, while also being useful purely as a system analysis tool. It was launched in March 2003 and is sponsored by NTT DATA Corporation, Japan.

CLAM is a multiplatform software framework for research and application development for the Audio and Music domains. It offers a conceptual model for building systems as well as tools for the analysis, synthesis, and transformation of audio signals using high level representation (notes, spectral peaks, etc.). It also provides multiplatform system abstraction and tools for audio and MIDI file handling, device handling, GUI and XML support, and more. It has proper Linux audio architecture integration (Ladspa, Alsa, OSC, Jack, VST, etc.) and rapid graphical prototyping both for the processing core and the user interface (Qt designer integration).

Tuner is a small Java application that allows the
user to tune a variety of musical instruments
using their PC.

FFTscope is a visualization plugin for AlsaPlayer.
Its main purpose is to demonstrate how to write a
plugin against the AlsaPlayer visualization API.

HASAS (HydroAcoustic Signal Analysis System) is a modular system for passive sonar signal analysis. It can be used for biological research or surveillance, for example. The soundcard is used as input device, and it currently includes all the very basic functionality; beamformed audio, direction finding, level histogram, LOFAR/DEMON (narrowband spectrogram), wideband spectrogram, and raw audio.

Pathomx is a workflow-based tool for the analysis of metabolomic and other omics datasets. It is interactive, visual, extensible, intelligent, and free for any use. It lets you dynamically build analysis workflows using the interactive editor. Drag and drop connections between plugin tools to create a complete workflow through which to run your analysis. Data can be loaded and processed automatically, and new approaches tested simply by connecting tools.

cdstatus checks for drive errors, outputs disc information (such as type and table of contents), and is capable of ripping full CDs, using configurable track ranges and retry counts. It handles cddb lookups and makes use of per-user .cdstatus configuration files. It usually produces identical output to cdparanoia with much faster execution. It features direct-to-lame MP3 encoding and Ogg Vorbis encoding, as well as twolame support.

IMMS (Intelligent Multimedia Management System) is
an intelligent playlist framework that
tracks your listening patterns and dynamically
adapts to your taste. It is incredibly unobtrusive
and easy to use as it requires no direct user
interaction. Plugins are currently available for XMMS and BMP.

jack_oscrolloscope is a simple waveform viewer for
JACK. The waveform is displayed in realtime, so
you can always see the signal the instant it comes
through JACK's input port.

The Snack sound extension adds commands for sound play/record and sound visualization, e.g. waveforms and spectrograms. It supports in- memory sound objects, file based audio, streaming audio, WAV, AU, AIFF, and MP3 file formats, synchronous and asynchronous playback. The visualization canvas item types update in real-time and can output postscript. New commands and file formats can be added using the Snack C-API.

Pause determines the location of silences in an
audio file for use in fragmentation of large
recordings, studies of pause duration, and the
like. It generates both a nicely formatted table
intended to be read by people and a simple
tab-delimited file that is easily parsed by software.

lv2-c++-tools is a software package containing
static libraries and programs that should make it
easier to write LV2 plugins.
