GatorMail is a Java Servlet-based Webmail application built on the Jakarta Struts framework. It was originally developed to meet the needs of the University of Florida. Efficient interaction with the mail store along with a low support overhead and simple, user-friendly interface are the primary goals of the project.

CaMail is a free modular Webmail system that uses
mod_perl and Template Toolkit. It supports
multiple IMAP/SMTP servers across multiple
domains, and addressbooks via LDAP. In addition,
LDAP is used to store sessions, contacts, groups,
mail filters, and user preferences.

The RH Email Server uses OpenLDAP authentication
for IMAP, POP3, SMTP, and SSL/TLS protocols. It
includes a Web interface, administration, and filters.

Virtual Exim is a PHP-enabled Web interface for managing multiple virtual mail domains with Exim and MySQL/PostgreSQL. POP/IMAP accounts, aliases, forwards, and permanent fail accounts can all be created and managed easily without the need for corresponding shell accounts. Virtual Exim also allows the server administrator to designate a SiteAdmin who can create and delete domains on the fly through the interface, so no editing of the Exim configuration file is required. Individual users can also log in to change their "Real Name", passwords, and mail filtering options with ease.

Mailsync is a way of synchronizing a collection of mailboxes. The algorithm is a 3-way diff. Two mailboxes are simultaneously compared to a record of the state of both mailboxes at last sync. New messages and message deletions are propagated between the two mailboxes. Mailsync can synchronize local or remote mailboxes in many formats including IMAP(S).

php-cyradm is a Web Administration tool for configuring the Cyrus IMAP Daemon, including alias files, etc.

Decimail Server is a mail server supporting IMAP
and SMTP that uses a PostgreSQL database to store
messages. Mailboxes are defined using SQL queries,
allowing complex client-independent automatic
message filtering and categorisation. For example
you can partition your messages chronologically,
by correspondent, and by mailing list at the same
time, with each message appearing in several
mailboxes. You can also use PostgreSQL's text indexing
extension for fast keyword searching. Decimail also features anti-spam processing of outgoing messages.

SmartSieve is a Web-based graphical user
interface for creating and managing sieve
scripts on a Cyrus IMAP mail server. It provides
a way for non-technical users to generate
sieve rules for mail filtering and vacation
messaging without prior knowledge of the
sieve scripting language. It is written in PHP
and is intended to be intuitive to use and
simple to configure, and is compatible with
Websieve scripts.

mbox2imap is a tool to migrate mailbox formatted mail messages to an IMAP server. It can migrate entire mailbox repositories like ~/.thunderbird/*.default/Mail/.

Buni Meldware Communication Suite is an enterprise
groupware product providing an email server,
calendar server, and a Web mail client. The Web
mail portion is written using Adobe's Flash and
provides a rich cross-browser experience. Protocol
support includes IMAP, POP, SMTP, iCAL, WCAP, and
more. It uniquely supports full database email
storage as well as file system storage of emails
on major database platforms, and is easily
installed via a Web Start graphical installation
process.

MyAddressBook is a simple, Web-based, LDAP-backed contact manager that lets you share contacts across computers and email programs.

fdm (fetch and deliver mail) is a simple, lightweight replacement for mail fetching, filtering, and delivery programs such as fetchmail and procmail. It can fetch using POP3, POP3S, IMAP, IMAPS, or stdin, and deliver to a pipe, file, maildir, mbox, or SMTP server, based on a set of regexps. It can be used for both single user and multiuser setups, and is designed with privilege separation when running as root.

XFMail is an X11 application for receiving
electronic mail. It implements most of its email
functionality internally so that it does not
depend on a lot of extra packages. It supports
POP3, MBOX, IMAP4, sendmail, and SMTP. It has
built-in support for interfacing with PGP, GPG,
ispell/aspell, faces, LDAP, and esound. It runs on
most Unix variants.

kmMail is a PHP-based mail program, based on the
mail functionality of Keftamail and is being
developed by current Kefta employees. It is meant
to be a framework for putting a web-based mail
program on your site, but is still robust enough
to drop into your current site with little to no
modification. The goals of kmMail are MIME
compliance, speed, low overhead, and an enjoyable
user interface.
