I think it is great that Benten is built on top of the Eclipse stack but I think you could have a version which is just a slimmed-down standalone RCP-based xliff editor. I think translators will may get confused with options to create new Java projects, Java perspectives etc. I know (from RCP/ Eclipse programming experience) it is hard to take out all IDE functionality but based on a quick code review where I removed some dependencies it looks doable in this case. I have some commercial Eclipse/RCP experience from my old job at Siemens and I would be happy to collaborate with you on the task. My email is:

I am a 37 year old phd student doing work on CAT tools for my phd in the Centre for Next Generation Localisation in Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) and I have about 10 years Java dev experience.
Feel free to contact me if you are interested in collaboration as I would rather not fork the project. I am also happy to help if you wish me to review any English in the project. I think this project is very promising.
