Détails

One basis of success for a writer is getting the chance to sell his or her books or articles. Of course, not everyone aims for this (most people are content with writing term papers for school), but if you've ever been serious about writing you've probably harbored this dream yourself.

How do you become a successfully published writer these days, anyway? Well, here's one tip that you'll most likely be able to use: connect with your readers.

And how do you connect to readers? It's simple enough:

Respond to reader requests.

You're probably thinking about how impossible this is, especially since everyone (writers and readers and non-writers alike) is so busy. Trust me when I say that you need to make time for this, though, because readers are definitely going to remember the fact that you took the time to respond to them (even if you had to decline.)

Talk about your work.

Don't shy away from opportunities to talk to people – you never know who your next avid reader will be. Try to open up about your writing as well, because the people who take the time to ask you about them will end up disappointed if you don't.
