GNU Anubis is an SMTP message submission daemon. It represents an intermediate layer between the mail user agent (MUA) and mail transport agent (MTA), receiving messages from the MUA, applying to them a set of predefined changes, and finally inserting modified messages into an MTA routing network. The set of changes applied to a message is configurable on a system-wide and per-user basis. The built-in configuration language used for defining sets of changes allows for considerable flexibility and is easily extensible.

Dans cette version, la nouvelle authentification et le mode d'autorisation a été introduite, qui ne requiert pas de machines client pour exécuter un serveur AUTH (identd). Il utilise le standard SMTP AUTH capacité. Base de données de l'utilisateur peuvent être conservés sur le serveur dans l'un des formats suivants: texte brut, GDBM, MySQL ou PostgreSQL. Le programme est maintenant extensible via Guile. La grammaire fichier de configuration a été fortement améliorée. Il comporte plusieurs nouvelles entités syntaxique, permet de nidification des instructions conditionnelles pour arbitraire profondeur, et est facilement extensible à l'aide de Guile. Une suite de test a été ajouté.

In this release, the new authentication and
authorization mode has been introduced, which does
not require client machines to run an AUTH server
(identd). It uses the standard SMTP AUTH
capability. The user's database can be kept on the
server machine in any of the following formats:
plain text, GDBM, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. The
program is now extensible via Guile. The
configuration file grammar has been heavily
improved. It features several new syntactical
entities, allows nesting of conditional statements
to arbitrary depth, and is easily extended using
Guile. A test suite was added.
