Mandriva is an RPM-based Linux distribtion. It excels at usability and simplicity, features thoroughly preconfigured KDE and GNOME desktops, and includes cool tools like supermount (transparent access to removable media) and DiskDrake (a full-featured graphical hard-drive partitioner). Unlike former versions, Mandriva is not a tuned-up Red Hat, but a very mature Linux distribution on its own. Mandriva is published by a company, but is a completely open and transparent free-software project.

Cette version apporte de KDE 4.6.5 avec une coutume fait principal menu de début du programme (SimpleWelcome), et une barre des tâches améliorée (RocketBar) qui comprend vite les applets accès au répertoire (StackFolder). Délai est un nouvel utilitaire pour la sémantique Nepomuk bureau. Sphère Mandriva est un nouveau client pour le support technique. Cette version apporte également un service de cloud MandrivaSync avec 2 Go d'espace libre. D'autres applications sont incluses LibreOffice 3.4.2, Mozilla Firefox 5.0.1, Mozilla Thunderbird, Clémentine lecteur de musique, X. Org 7.6 avec X. Org X Server 1.10.3, le noyau Linux 2.6.38.7, systemd et RPM 5.
