Quassel IRC is a modern, cross-platform, distributed IRC client, meaning that one or more clients can attach to and detach from a central core, much like the popular combination of screen and a text-based IRC client, but graphical. In addition to this unique feature, it aims to be a comfortable chatting program.

Parmi les principales caractéristiques de cette version sont un client complètement retravaillé le cadre de base / reconnexion vedette tant attendue et un soutien solide. On a également ajouté le support pour la barre d'état système dbus-fondé de nouvelles de KDE et, dans certaines distributions, GNOME (en utilisant la spécification StatusNotifier). Notification de manutention obtenu une refonte complète. Quassel prend désormais en charge la saisie du texte formaté. d'authentification IRC est désormais possible grâce à SASL sur les réseaux qui soutiennent cette (p. ex Freenode). Comme à peu près chaque nouvelle version, plusieurs nouvelles langues et des traductions améliorées pour celles déjà existantes ont été ajoutées.

Among the major features of this release are a completely reworked client/core connection featuring long-awaited reconnection and Solid support. Also added was support for the new DBus-based system tray of KDE and, in some distributions, GNOME (using the StatusNotifier spec). Notification handling got a complete overhaul. Quassel now supports inputting formatted text. IRC authentication is now possible through SASL on networks that support this (e.g. Freenode). As with roughly every release, several new languages and improved translations for already existing ones were added.
