Then it probably won't work either. I don't know the details of  
Carbon Emacs. The apparent symptoms can be summarized as follows. The  
version of the last October can display the monaco fonts gracefully.  
The current version either display the fonts too thick if nothing is  
done, or too thin if smoothing threshold is raised. The variable mac- 
allow-anti-aliasing has no effect at all.
