NEWS-3.1.0 and PEOPLE update
Currently setting up an environment for this work flow. Current commit count between S3_0 branching point (after which, master commits have been towards 3.1) and S3_1 HEAD is 5108.
Not much done so far, have had just a couple of short sessions of going through commit messages. But I've reached the point where ticket numbers refer to hrm instead of gna.
Did some promising progress on latter half of October, but no progress at all during November (and "no progress" does not mean that we're as close to S3_1 HEAD as a month ago, but it actually means falling behind MORE, as a lot of stuff has gone to S3_1 HEAD meanwhile)
Have reached S3_1 branching point. Updated PEOPLE for the part of 3.1 development that took place in master (master between S3_0 and S3_1 branching points)
Now my NEWS collecting is exactly 1500 commits behind S3_1 HEAD.

For the 3.0 it took me six months working one hour a day (-> ~180 hours) on the equivalent task to go all the development history through. 3.1 has been in development for a longer time, but I've not yet checked if that also means higher number of commits.
