KGuitar is powerful KDE-based music tablature editor with support for guitar, drums, classic note scores, MIDI synthesizer output, chords, scales, modes, melody and rhythm construction and analysis tools, and many tab effects. It can import Guitar Pro 4 files.

eyeD3 is a Python program and module that provides the ability to read and write ID3 tags (v1.x and v2.3/v2.4). It also decodes MP3 headers (bit rate, sample frequency, play time, etc.).

UFRaw is a utility for converting and manipulating raw images from
digital cameras. It can be used as a stand-alone tool or as a Gimp
plugin, and images can be batch processed using the commandline
interface. UFRaw reads most existing raw formats using Dave Coffin's raw
conversion utility DCRaw, and it supports basic color management using
Little CMS, allowing the user to apply color profiles. For Nikon users,
UFRaw has the advantage that it can read the camera's tone curves. Even
if you don't own a Nikon, you can still apply a Nikon curve to your
images.

gAlan is an audio-processing tool for X Windows
and Win32. It allows you to build synthesizers,
effects chains, mixers, sequencers, drum machines,
etc. in a modular fashion by linking together
icons representing primitive audio processing
components.

Chemtool is a GTK+-based 2D chemical structure editor for X11. Drawings can be exported in XFig format for further annotation, or as Postscript files (using xfig's companion program transfig). A set of sample molecular structure drawings is included in the archive.
