Univert is a Universal Unicode Converter, at least
as universal as the Unicode implementation in Tcl
8.1 or later can manage on your computer. Univert
will convert interchangably between the following
formats: native Tcl unicode, hex bytes or words
separated by spaces, decimal bytes or words
separated by spaces, HTML entities, UTF-8/URL
encoding, quoted printable with whatever the
current encoding is, and C string with whatever
the current encoding is.

pts-console-hu is a collection of fonts, keyboard
layouts, and scripts that provide a good font (in
several sizes) and several good keyboard layouts
with the Euro key for the Linux virtual console
(text mode and framebuffer). The package also
provides Hungarian keyboard layouts for X11.

The ASCII art printer shows letters printed in underscores, slashes, backslashes, and pipe characters. It can be used with figlet.

efont-unicode-bdf is a comprehensive collection of Unicode BDF fonts. It consists of 10, 12, 14, 16 and 24 pixels fonts; all fonts having bold, italic, and bold-italic typefaces. Included fonts have various origins, and the origin of each font is carefully documented to make it clear whether and under what conditions you may use, modify, or re-distribute any part of our work.

TextSearch is a program to search through a set of
text files in a directory structure. Each document
is searched using a regular expression and an
overview of the results is shown as a tree
structure. By clicking on a file, it can be
viewed, with matches being highlighted. As opposed
to other programs out there, its focus is not so
much on statistics, i.e. how often a word would
occur in an entire corpus of files, but rather on
occurrences in single files.

The mminstance package creates instances of PostScript Type1 multiple master fonts. (An instance is a version of the font as it looks at one point in its design space.) Mminstance lets you use multiple master fonts with programs that don't handle them directly, such as afm2tfm, ps2pdf, ps2pk, and X Type1 font servers. Mminstance contains two programs. Mmafm creates AFM font metrics from multiple master AMFM and AFM files, and Mmpfb creates a single-master font outline file (PFA or PFB) from the multiple master font itself.

wxFontView is a simple font viewing utility. It
uses wxPython to display system fonts and allows
the user to change the font size, color,
background color, font face, and the displayed
text. It is handy for viewing fonts and styles
quickly or for making "logo" graphics.

libtholoura is a text-image distortion library,
which is useful for sites that want to ensure that
a human (and not a bot) is viewing pages. It is
optimized to produce images of strings distorted
in a way that makes it impossible for an OCR to
read, but humans can. The library takes a string
(preferably ASCII) string and is able to
dynamically produce PNG indexed images. The
distortion filters are external plugins.

WorldPrint is a filter for Mozilla (Galeon, etc.),
Htmldoc, and Netscape PostScript output that uses
TrueType fonts to allow the printing of pages
written in Unicode, Big5, SJIS, KOI-8, ISO-8859*,
and other charsets.

Hamster Font Manager (HFM) helps you control the avaliability of fonts in all of the supported applications from a central place. It includes modules to support X11, Ghostscript, and TeX. A PostScript module handles PS Fonts while other fonts remain untouched by this program. It features a nice Tcl/TK GUI. For X11 configuration to work, this software has to run on the machine's own X Server.

The jmk-x11-fonts package contains character-cell
fonts for use with the X Window System. These
fonts attempt to be practical while also remaining
both legible and aesthetically pleasing. A wide
variety of font sizes are available in both medium
and bold weights and in a number of ISO-8859
standard encodings.

Glyphtracer takes a picture of several letters. It detects individual letters and allows the user to tag them to Unicode code points. These are then vectorized and passed to Fontforge for finalization.

The BigText command is used to print big text
using X11 fonts. It is similar to many other
banner(1) commands, except that it can draw with
all of the X11 fonts.

PalmFontConv is a collection of command-line utilities to manipulate Palm fonts in both v1 and v2 formats. Currently, there is a converter that converts between afnx, nfnt (low, high, or both densities), NFNT, and text editable formats, and another converter that converts Type 1/TrueType/BDF/PCF and other formats supported by FreeType2 into the text editable format, code for generating Plucker and PalmBible+ compatible anti-aliased fonts. There are also a bunch of GUI shells for generating font packages for Plucker, PalmBible+, Fonts4OS5, and FontSubst.

The Free Bangla Fonts project is a volunteer run
project dedicated for creating Free, high quality,
completely Unicode compliant Open Type Bengali
fonts. This project aims to be the central
resource for getting and developing Free Bengali
fonts. The initial aim of this project is to
release a full set of Bengali fonts that supports
all the major Bengali Yuktakhars (conjuncts).
