GFreqlet is a GNOME applet for Linux that not only
monitors CPU frequency scaling, but also allows
the end user to change the frequency or governor
with just a click. It automatically detects which
frequencies and governors your processor supports,
so there is no configuration required. The applet
itself is not run as root, nor required to modify
to run with root ownership, but password prompts
with gksudo if a superuser action is required.
GFreqlet is very straightforward and minimal, and
just does what it's supposed to.

gtkam is a GNOME front-end for gphoto, which allows
you to retrieve photos and movies from over 300
different digital cameras.

Tagsistant is a semantic filesystem for Linux and
BSD kernels. It uses directories as tags and
allows file tagging by simply putting files inside
desired tag directories. The path you are walking
by is your query, e.g.
tagsistant/tag1/AND/tag2/OR/tag3/AND/tag2/. Being
a low level interface, a filesystem can be
instantly used by shell users, file managers, or
CGI. A plug-in architecture is under development
to add autotagging functionality for common files
like .mp3, .ogg, .jpeg, .html, and .xml. A
transparent ontology engine is also under
development to allow users create a relationship
schema between directories.

Knapster is a Linux KDE client of Napster, the MP3 download utility. It supports most of the napster client operations such as searching by songname/band, messaging, chat channels, downloads and uploads, and an mp3 library.

Peces is a program to play the traditional
Tangram, a game of Chinese origin. It consists of
constructing shapes with some polygonal pieces.
Traditionally, the game has seven pieces, but
there are also variations with 5 pieces, 14
pieces, and others.

DVD Rip-O-Matic is a simple DVD-to-XviD ripping
wizard that uses MEncoder to do the actual
encoding. The wizard was designed to be very easy
to use; it automatically detects the optimal
settings. It should also produce very high quality
AVI files, even if you have no idea what the
settings mean and just use it in the
next-next-next-finish way.

JCalendar is a Swing component for selecting a
date. It is easy to configure, highly
customizable, and has an attractive user
interface. The distribution includes a demo
application so that you can preview your
customized component.

Glimmer is an all-purpose programmer's editor for Linux. Features include revert, find/replace, goto line, syntax highlighting, multiple-level undo/redo, tear-away windows, quick access popup menu, auto-indenting, Python scripting support, and many other standard editor features.

ACPI Temperature Monitor is a Windowmaker
dockapp that monitors the temperature and
Speedstep features in new ACPI-based
systems. It supports batteries, automatic
shutdown when the power is low, and multiple
screens.

Denu is a portage-based menu generator/editor for
Fluxbox, Openbox, GNOME, IceWM, KDE, XFCE4, and Waimea. Its main feature is
Web-based updates, and it also has some
customization features.

Java-GNOME is a Java binding for the GTK and
GNOME libraries. It is implemented as a JNI layer
that delegates the Java calls to the underlying
native libraries.

Fisterra is a GNOME development framework for
implementing business management applications or
ad hoc ERPs. Fisterra 2 is comprised of
fisterra-base, a mature GNOME development
framework, and fisterra-distribution, a vertical
solution for the retail sector, with a beta POS
(Point-Of-Sale). Its CORBA middleware allows the
integration of Fisterra based applications with
any other free or private systems.

StarDock to XCursor convertss StarDock
CursorXP themes to XCursor themes. It allows
a wide range of cursors designed for Windows
to be used within XFree86 4.2.99 or higher. It
supports full-color, alpha-translucent,
animated cursors.

DiaCanvas is a generalized version of the drawing canvas used by DIA. It extends some features used by DIA and adds new ones, while preserving as many of the original features as possible. This project is no longer actively maintained. It is suggested that you try DiaCanvas2 instead.

The ASCII art printer shows letters printed in underscores, slashes, backslashes, and pipe characters. It can be used with figlet.
