Defendguin is a clone of the Williams arcade classic "Defender." Instead of humanoids, you rescue penguinoids, and instead of alien UFOs abducting them, it's a certain monopolist we all know.

PhysicsFS is a library to provide abstract access to
various archives. The programmer defines a "write
directory" on the physical filesystem. No file writing
done through the PhysicsFS API can leave that
write directory, for security. For file reading, the
programmer lists directories and archives that form
a "search path". Once the search path is defined, it
becomes a single, transparent, hierarchical
filesystem. This makes for easy access to ZIP files
in the same way as you access a file directly on
the disk, and it makes it easy to ship a new archive
that will override a previous archive on a per-file
basis. Symbolic links can be disabled, for added
safety. Finally, PhysicsFS gives you a platform-
abstracted means to determine if CD-ROMs are
available, the user's home directory, where in the
real filesystem your program is running, etc.

DGen/SDL is an emulator for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive systems. The latest version supports save states, interlace mode, Game Genie, Linux joystick support, compressed ROM images, and other nice features.

Heroes is similar to the "Tron" and "Nibbles" games of yore, but includes many graphical improvements and new game features including 12 original soundtracks, 94 levels (in 10 different tilesets), and five gaming modes including Quest (the classical Nibbles), or Kill'em all (squish the lemmings).

Makefiles is a high-level build system and suite of portability tools. It is
meant to be easier to use than autoconf and generally superior. The package
contains a set of rules that allows you to compile structured projects with
small and uniformly structured makefiles. All rules are located in a central
directory. Compiling the projects on different platforms can be done
simultaneously without having to modify any of the makefiles that are located
in the projects directories.

The Enhanced File Crypt/eXtended File Stealth System (EFC/XFSS) makes
your uploaded files safe on the server so that no one can read them
without knowing a few details to decipher the files. It generates
different obfuscated names and encrypted files so no one will know what
the original format or name was.

PECoMaTo stands for Picture-Embedded COntents MAnipulation TOol. It is basically designed to display any kind of information embedded in picture files, as well as checking, filtering, extracting, removing, adding, and fixing such information. In other words, it's a metadata processor. It supports the following file formats: JPEG/JFIF, Adobe PSD and FFO, and raw IPTC. It knows about the following metadata formats: JFIF, IPTC, Exif, Adobe, and Fotostation. More file and metadata formats might be supported later (TIFF, etc.).

Basilisk II is a free, portable, Open Source 68k Mac emulator. It requires a copy of a 512K or 1MB Mac ROM and a copy of MacOS 7.x or 8.x to run.

developers may code and be assured of
predictable if not identical behaviour
regardless of the platform on which their
software is built, relieving them of the need to
code special-case conditions to work around
or take advantage of platform-specific
deficiencies or features.

KBall is a game of skill and reflexes suitable for all ages. The
idea is to move a ball around the map without falling or
running out of time, and getting the prizes, in order to reach
the exit. The map has different traps, such as slides,
pushers, jumps, falls, and walls, etc. Maps are viewed from
top view, and the walls and player's ball are real-time
rendered in beautiful 3D. There is a map editor available
inside of the game, to make custom maps.

SheepShaver is a free, portable, feature-rich,
PowerPC Mac emulator. It runs MacOS 7.5.2 up to
MacOS 9.0.4, but it requires a copy of a 4 MB or
NewWorld Mac ROM.
